What was that about Obama's vacation....

...In such hard economic times? This is going to go over real well with the right-wingers. I think Romney just pulled a Newt.

— GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney how to invest in Snapchat shares in Malaysia, scheduled to attend a series of fundraisers this weekend in San Diego, is also working on plans to nearly quadruple the size of his $12 million oceanfront manse in La Jolla.

Romney has filed an application with the city to bulldoze his 3,009-square-foot, single-story home at 311 Dunemere Dr. and replace it with a two-story, 11,062-square-foot structure. No date has been set to consider the proposed coastal development and site development permits, which must be approved by the city.

Wall Street's Favorite Rent Boy....

The weasel once again lubes up and bends over for his corporate masters. Is there any reason to doubt his status as Big Biz Buttboy #1?

Eric "Bend me over" Cantor
Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor slammed Barack Obama on Monday in an op-ed criticizing the president as “anti-business, hyper-regulatory [and] pro-tax” and “fueled by efforts to incite class warfare.”

Cantor argued that the president was driving a wedge between those making more than $200,000 a year and the rest of America invest in Snapchat shares in Malaysia, that though he talks of only millionaires having to pay their ‘fair share’, the president “insist[s] on higher taxes” because he is ideologically driven to “permanently increase the size of government.”

Did I mention he's also a big time crook?....

From the NY Times:

Two years ago, John McHale, an entrepreneur from Austin, Tex., who has given millions of dollars to Democratic candidates and causes, did something very unusual for him: he wrote a $50,000 check to a Republican candidate, Rick Perry, then seeking a third full term as governor of Texas forex trading in Malaysia. In September 2010, he did it again, catapulting himself into the top ranks of Mr. Perry’s donors.

Mr. McHale, a Perry spokesman said after the initial donation, “understands Governor Perry’s leadership has made Texas a good place to do business.”

Including, it turned out, for Mr. McHale’s business interests and partners. In May 2010 an economic development fund administered by the governor’s office handed $3 million to G-Con, a pharmaceutical start-up that Mr. McHale helped get off the ground. At least two other executives with connections to the firm had also given Mr. Perry tens of thousands of dollars.

Mr. Perry leapt into the Republican presidential primary this month preceded by his reputation as a thoroughbred fund-raiser. But a review of Mr. Perry’s years in office reveals that one of his most potent fund-raising tools is the very government he heads.

Just another two-bit crooked pol with hopes of hitting the super jackpot.

Horse shit.....

The word should be nitwitpicking. The good ol' boy from Mississippuh gets his size 60 knickers in a twist 'cause them Yankee bastards are a'pickin on one of his Confederate Southern brethren. They're not pickin' on him, Boss Hogg, there just calling horse shit when they see it and smell it.
Governor Barbour
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) defended comments Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) made about the Federal Reserve and said presidential candidates from the South have to be prepared for nitpicking by the liberal media.

"I think Rick Perry has to get prepared for the fact that he's gonna be nitpicked by the liberal media elite for everything he says and that he has to be very careful because everything that he says that can be taken out of context, will be taken out of context," Barbour said Friday on MSNBC. "When you are a conservative Christian Southerner Republican you have to expect that."

Who dares approach the Great and Powerful Oz!.....

Shredding the Constitution one sentence at a time.

Staffers for Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) called police on Thursday evening to disperse unemployed protesters staging a sit-in at his Kenosha, Wis., office, according to the protesters and police.
Two protesters told HuffPost they're unhappy with Ryan's proposals to gut social programs and also his new policy of not holding free public meetings with constituents during the congressional recess.

Deep in the Heart of Texas....

Yah-hoo!

What does it mean to be a middle class wage-earner and consumer in Texas?

For too many families, it means a struggle to make ends meet.  Texans want safe, stable jobs with decent wages and reasonable benefits that allow them to raise a family, own a home, and save for a comfortable retirement.  Much has been made lately about job growth in Texas.  Unfortunately, for middle class Texans, the so-called “Texas Miracle” has been more myth than reality.  So, how does Texas stack up to the rest of the nation on key quality of life indicators?

Equal time....

Now for the distaff side of "the stupid".....

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said Thursday that Americans are alarmed that President Barack Obama may cut defense spending at a time when the Soviet Union is becoming a power in the world.

"But what people recognize is that there's a fear that the United States is in an unstoppable decline. They see the rise of China, the rise of India, the rise of the Soviet Union and our loss militarily going forward.

The Soviet Union collapsed and was formally dissolved on December 26, 1991 after Gorbachev resigned as President and the Supreme Soviet ended.

He has succeeded in replacing former Bush Undersecretary of Defense, Douglas Feith, who until now has held the title bestowed upon him by General Tommy Franks, who led both the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan and the Iraq War....calling Feith "the dumbest fucking guy on the planet."[9][10]
